What is AMCT?

AMCT stands for Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique. This technique utilizes a small tool that relies on four different settings that are used depending on the age and the area of adjustment of the person it is being used on. These settings dictate the force necessary to move a bone to its appropriate position.

What exactly is chiropractic and why is it necessary?

Chiropractic is the process of using the appropriate force and spatial direction to appropriately place bones back to where they naturally are supposed to be. Most of the time, these misalignments don’t really cause any apparent issues, however, depending on the severity of the misalignment and its location, many symptoms may arise such as: pain, nerve entrapments, headaches, arthritis, restricted movements, etc.

As I stated in the main page “the first step to a healthy body is a functioning body”. For example, you (seemingly) randomly start getting knee pain so you think that the best solution is to stop exercising so much for a while. It seems to help, but when you start exercising again, it appears once again. It becomes an endless cycle where the ultimate outcome is you’re forced to become sedentary for the rest of your life. Some solutions that may help are to go to an MD, where you’ll likely get some sort of medication that can help with the pain, but if you think about it, that doesn’t address the issue of having a misaligned bone at all. The pain is there to let you know that you’re damaging yourself. Masking the pain away will eventually lead to more serious problems. For that reason, I believe that Chiropractic is necessary and should be one of the most sought after forms of treatment in the world.

Why did you choose AMCT over any other chiropractic techniques?

As someone who comes from a science background and has always had a deep appreciation for research, I really appreciate how well researched AMCT is. Here are over 300 categories of research https://activator.com/research/ that have honed AMCT to be one of the most effective chiropractic techniques in existence.

AMCT is able to address pretty much any joint in the body with very little chance of harm. This is actually where I would say I stand out quite a bit. I’ve dedicated so much time and effort in mastering pretty much every AMCT adjustment there is. I can address pretty much any joint in the body from the TMJ, the coccyx, the wrists, the fingers, the toes, you name it!

Unfortunately, quite often, many traditional chiropractors damage their bodies by using the same exact motions over and over again to perform specific adjustments. With AMCT you can perform the necessary adjustments with the appropriate force and (in my opinion) better spatial directionality. Traditional chiropractic is often limited by the physics and anatomy of the patient and doctor.

There are so many joints and directions that joints can misalign. How do you know when to adjust and in what direction?

One of my favorite parts of AMCT is that it utilizes the AMCT leg-length analysis system to determine this. Rather than relying on human sensitivity to feel what needs to be adjusted and in which way, the AMCT analysis relies on decades of research of the human body's responses to certain pressures and movements done to joints. The AMCT doctor applies the specific imput which sends a signal to the brain that always responds to the patients feet by causing the patient's "PD leg" to shorten if the it does not like the pressure. The amazing thing is that the body will tell the doctor if an adjustment is necessary even if the patient does not experience pain. For example if your elbow often causes problems when you go to them gym, you can ask for it to be analysed/adjusted beforehand in order to prevent the elbow from casuing pain.

Meet Dr. Velasquez, D.C.

Thank you so much for joining my journey and helping me achieve my goals.

I was the second born of six children of two migrant parents. They always did what they could for us, but with the lack of job opportunities and because we were so many, I would say I definitely lived most of my life in poverty. I make this point because I feel like Chiropractic has always been mostly for people who are more financially fortunate. I think the first time I'd even heard the word "Chiropractor" was in high school my senior year when the Dean's daughter mentioned having to go after school. This brings me to my first goal: I want to bring Chiropractic to less financially fortunate people. I don't like the idea that this profession is sort of gate-kept to people with more money. Almost anybody who has lived a very physical life could use a chiropractor to help optimize their body.

My second goal is to help as many people possible. In order to do that I do plan to open a fast pace practice in the near future in Visalia. This practice will consist of stations of prepared patients ready to be adjusted. The appointments will be done in minutes, depending on how many areas need to be analyzed and adjusted. One of my favorite parts about being a Chiropractor is having some heart-felt time with patients to talk about how we're doing, how life changing the adjustments have been. Unfortunately, I just can't envision a mix where I can do this without feeling the pressure to rush conversations and such. My future plan is to still give patients the opportunity to talk to me (and each other) in sort of a blog format on my site. I love hearing improvement stories and it honestly gets me so emotional to be able to help people get their lives back. I just can't spend so much time and focus at work getting emotional with people when I can be helping even more people.

My third goal is to make money without selling people short. It's unfortunate, but there are an unbelievable amount of expenses to run a chiropractic business. The school loans alone are terrifying. Along with that, I want to help my family. My parents deserve to finally get to rest. Anyway, in order to do that I've come up with this pricing mechanism. When I get an office the travel fee will be gone so patients can come in for as low as $25 for an adjustment (which is pretty much unheard of in this business). I believe that this is a good deal for everyone, for me and patients of any income bracket. Let me explain this with an example. A woman of a lower income bracket comes in with several issues: her left knee is a constant 10/10 pain, it's so bad that she can't even walk. She also has a infrequent 1/10 pain in both wrists, elbows, and shoulders. In her perspective, the left knee is 99% of the issue. Her appointment cost will be $25 every time I see her for her knee. In another universe where the only thing different is that this woman is in a much higher income bracket but she still has the same issues, she can get all 7 issues treated for $175. She gets 1% more coverage of her issues for a lot more money but it was ultimately her choice. Overall, I think everybody wins with this strategy.
